Subject 2: Responsibility and Leadership
Responsible Leadership depends on several keystones such as successful interaction, reasonable decision-making, operational objectives and unbiased and respectful relations. Therefore, communication is an essential foundation of leadership.
Popularizing earlier work in communication psychology by Karl Bühler and others, Friedemann Schulz von Thun proposed a now very widespread model of communication, called the “communication square” (figure 1). It suggests that every message that passes between a sender and a receiver can be interpreted along four lines: factual information, relationship, self-revelation and appeal.
